Cherry Smiley, from the Nlaka'pamux/Thompson and Diné/Navajo Nations, is an artist and feminist activist. She has worked in a rape crisis centre and transition house and has assisted in coordinating an anti-violence group for Indigenous girls. She is currently a 2016 Trudeau Scholar in the communications PhD program at Concordia University.
