Stephanie Cairns is director of the Circular Economy Program at the Smart Prosperity Institute. She leads research on emerging best policy practices to support innovation for a circular economy, as well as supporting sector-specific research on the implications and applications of a circular economy in the minerals and metals, agriculture and agri-food, and renewable energy technology sectors. She serves on the Council of Canadian Academies’ Expert Panel on the Circular Economy, and has worked on climate, environment and economic policy issues for government agencies and think tanks for 30 years. She has a M.Sc. in cleaner production from Lund University, Sweden.
