David Carment

David Carment holds a PhD from McGill University. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. He has held a NATO fellowship, a Cadieux fellowship, fellowships at the Belfer Center, Harvard University, and the Center for Global Cooperation in Duisburg, Germany, and WIDER-UNU in Helsinki, Finland. He is a fellow at the Institute for Peace and Diplomacy and the Canadian Global Affairs Institute. He leads the Country Indicators for Policy project, a risk assessment and forecasting tool. He is the founding series editor of Canada and International Affairs and served as editor of the Canadian Foreign Policy Journal for 14 years. His most recent books include Democracy and Foreign Policy in an Era of Uncertainty and the Handbook of Fragile States.
