Katłįà (Catherine) Lafferty is a member of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation from Somba K’e, N.W.T., who also lives with the Coast Salish peoples in lək̓ʷəŋən territory. Katłįà is a writer and in fourth year of juris doctor in common law and Indigenous legal orders with the University of Victoria.
