Cette situation a des cons\u00e9quences importantes pour l\u2019\u00e9conomie canadienne, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse des p\u00e9nuries de main-d\u2019\u0153uvre ou des co\u00fbts budg\u00e9taires \u00e9lev\u00e9s n\u00e9cessaires pour financer les programmes de revenu de retraite d\u2019une population vieillissante.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Convaincre un plus grand nombre des <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www150.statcan.gc.ca\/n1\/daily-quotidien\/220427\/dq220427a-fra.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">21,8 % de Canadiens<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> en \u00e2ge de travailler qui sont proches de la retraite de continuer encore quelque temps pourrait desserrer une partie de la pression.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Pour ce faire, il faudra que les lieux de travail soient mieux adapt\u00e9s \u00e0 leurs besoins. R\u00e9former le syst\u00e8me canadien de soins de longue dur\u00e9e pourrait \u00eatre l\u2019une des cl\u00e9s, car l\u2019all\u00e8gement du fardeau que repr\u00e9sente la prise en charge des partenaires et des parents vieillissants pourrait permettre \u00e0 certains travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s de continuer \u00e0 travailler ou de r\u00e9int\u00e9grer le march\u00e9 du travail.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">M\u00e9connu et sous-utilis\u00e9<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">La croissance du nombre de travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www150.statcan.gc.ca\/n1\/en\/pub\/75-006-x\/2019001\/article\/00011-eng.pdf?st=5LnSddUB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 s\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> en 2001, ann\u00e9e o\u00f9 la premi\u00e8re vague de baby-boomers a atteint l\u2019\u00e2ge de 55 ans. Le <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www150.statcan.gc.ca\/t1\/tbl1\/fr\/tv.action?pid=1410028702&amp;pickMembers%5B0%5D=1.1&amp;pickMembers%5B1%5D=3.1&amp;cubeTimeFrame.startMonth=04&amp;cubeTimeFrame.startYear=2024&amp;referencePeriods=20240401%2C20240401&amp;request_locale=fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">taux d\u2019activit\u00e9<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> des travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s de 55 ans et plus \u00e9tait de 36,4 % en avril 2024, contre 25,7 % au m\u00eame mois en 2001. L\u2019<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www150.statcan.gc.ca\/t1\/tbl1\/fr\/tv.action?pid=1410006001&amp;pickMembers%5B0%5D=4.1&amp;cubeTimeFrame.startYear=1976&amp;cubeTimeFrame.endYear=2023&amp;referencePeriods=19760101%2C20230101&amp;request_locale=fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00e2ge moyen des retrait\u00e9s<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> est pass\u00e9 \u00e0 65,1 ans en 2023, son niveau le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 depuis la fin des ann\u00e9es 1970.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">De nos jours, il est peut-\u00eatre <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/content\/dam\/canada\/employment-social-development\/corporate\/seniors\/forum\/labour-force-participation\/labour-force-participation-EN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">plus facile<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> pour les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es de conserver leur emploi. Ils ont un niveau d\u2019\u00e9ducation plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 que les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes et une meilleure ma\u00eetrise de l\u2019informatique. Ils restent en bonne sant\u00e9 plus longtemps et ont une esp\u00e9rance de vie plus longue.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">La diminution de la couverture globale des retraites et le passage de r\u00e9gimes de retraite \u00e0 prestations d\u00e9finies \u00e0 des r\u00e9gimes de retraite \u00e0 cotisations d\u00e9finies, moins avantageux, influencent \u00e9galement les d\u00e9cisions en mati\u00e8re de retraite.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">La <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nber.org\/papers\/w30463\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">nature des emplois<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> a \u00e9galement chang\u00e9, nombre d\u2019entre eux exigeant moins d\u2019effort physique.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">N\u00e9anmoins, comme les baby-boomers continuent de prendre leur retraite et que les jeunes sont proportionnellement moins nombreux \u00e0 entrer sur le march\u00e9 du travail, le taux global de participation \u00e0 la population active a chut\u00e9.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">En avril 2024, il \u00e9tait \u00e0 65,4 %, contre 66 % en 2001 et 67,1 % en 2011, ann\u00e9e o\u00f9 la premi\u00e8re vague de baby-boomers a atteint l\u2019\u00e2ge de 65 ans. Selon les projections de Statistique Canada, il devrait continuer \u00e0 baisser au moins jusqu\u2019en 2036.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Les Canadiens \u00e2g\u00e9s pourraient contribuer \u00e0 combler les p\u00e9nuries de main-d\u2019\u0153uvre qui se profilent \u00e0 l\u2019horizon, mais ils restent une \u00ab\u202fsource de main-d\u2019\u0153uvre n\u00e9glig\u00e9e et sous-utilis\u00e9e\u202f\u00bb, selon un <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotiabank.com\/ca\/en\/about\/economics\/economics-publications\/post.other-publications.insights-views.older-cdns-in-workforce--june-15--2022-.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">rapport de la Banque Scotia<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, qui affirme que des centaines de milliers de Canadiens \u00e2g\u00e9s pourraient rester plus longtemps sur le march\u00e9 du travail ou le r\u00e9int\u00e9grer gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des politiques ad\u00e9quates.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Le <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oecd-ilibrary.org\/sites\/678055dd-en\/1\/3\/1\/index.html?itemId=\/content\/publication\/678055dd-en&amp;_csp_=76735d52f9f1cb699c89da376723c2ff&amp;itemIGO=oecd&amp;itemContentType=book#section-d1e932-39949a7bd2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Canada est \u00e0 la tra\u00eene<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> de plusieurs pays de l\u2019Organisation de coop\u00e9ration et de d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomiques (OCDE), dont la Su\u00e8de, le Japon et la Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande, o\u00f9 les trois quarts des personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es de 55 \u00e0 64 ans avaient un emploi en 2022, contre 63,5 % au Canada. En Islande, le taux est de plus de 80 %.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">L\u2019allongement de la dur\u00e9e de vie professionnelle des Canadiens n\u2019est pas seulement b\u00e9n\u00e9fique pour le march\u00e9 du travail. Des <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oecd-ilibrary.org\/employment\/promoting-an-age-inclusive-workforce_59752153-en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">recherches men\u00e9es par l\u2019OCDE<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> ont montr\u00e9 qu\u2019il est b\u00e9n\u00e9fique pour les performances des entreprises.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">L\u2019\u00e9tude a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que la productivit\u00e9 des travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s est similaire \u00e0 celle de leurs homologues en milieu de carri\u00e8re et qu\u2019elle est sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle des jeunes travailleurs. Les travailleurs plus \u00e2g\u00e9s ont un taux de roulement plus faible, ainsi qu\u2019une plus grande exp\u00e9rience en mati\u00e8re de gestion et en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">La m\u00eame \u00e9tude a montr\u00e9 qu\u2019il est avantageux de faire travailler ensemble des personnes d\u2019\u00e2ges diff\u00e9rents, car la compl\u00e9mentarit\u00e9 des comp\u00e9tences des employ\u00e9s de diff\u00e9rentes g\u00e9n\u00e9rations am\u00e9liore les performances de l\u2019\u00e9quipe et accro\u00eet la productivit\u00e9 globale des entreprises.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Pourtant, les employeurs ont peu de politiques visant \u00e0 encourager la collaboration multig\u00e9n\u00e9rationnelle, ajoute le rapport.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Le d\u00e9fi des soins aux personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Les travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s peuvent toutefois <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/content\/dam\/canada\/employment-social-development\/corporate\/seniors\/forum\/labour-force-participation\/labour-force-participation-EN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">rencontrer des difficult\u00e9s<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> \u00e0 rester sur le lieu de travail. On peut penser par exemple \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2gisme qui n\u2019attire pas autant l\u2019attention que d\u2019autres enjeux d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9, de diversit\u00e9 et d\u2019inclusion sur le lieu de travail, et qui fait l\u2019objet de moins d\u2019\u00e9ducation et de formation.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">De nombreux travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s doivent \u00e9galement faire face \u00e0 la pression que repr\u00e9sente la prise en charge d\u2019autres membres \u00e2g\u00e9s de la famille. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/irpp.org\/fr\/research-studies\/long-term-care-financing-fair-and-sustainable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Selon une \u00e9tude<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> publi\u00e9e par l\u2019Institut de recherche en politiques publiques, plus de 33 % des personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es de 55 \u00e0 64 ans et 23,5 % des personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es de 65 ans et plus s\u2019occuperont d\u2019un adulte d\u00e9pendant en 2022.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Les femmes sont plus susceptibles que les hommes de fournir des soins non r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9s \u00e0 des adultes, d\u2019y consacrer plus d\u2019heures et d\u2019en recevoir fatigue et anxi\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">La prestation de soins peut entra\u00eener des contraintes financi\u00e8res. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/irpp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/study-no58.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Selon une estimation<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, le manque \u00e0 gagner des aidants canadiens qui s\u2019absentent du travail, r\u00e9duisent leurs heures ou d\u00e9missionnent s\u2019est \u00e9lev\u00e9 \u00e0 221 M$ par an pour les femmes entre 2003 et 2008, et \u00e0 116 M$ par an pour les hommes.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Les personnes interrog\u00e9es dans le cadre d\u2019un <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/canadiancaregiving.org\/fr\/etre-aidant-au-canada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">r\u00e9cent sondage<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> men\u00e9 aupr\u00e8s de 3000 aidants non r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9s et prestataires de soins r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9s ont r\u00e9clam\u00e9 des politiques plus favorables sur le lieu de travail, telles que des jours de cong\u00e9, des modalit\u00e9s de travail flexibles et des cong\u00e9s pay\u00e9s, afin de les aider \u00e0 concilier leurs responsabilit\u00e9s professionnelles et en mati\u00e8re de soins.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Lever les freins au travail<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral a apport\u00e9 plusieurs modifications au syst\u00e8me canadien de revenu de retraite afin de r\u00e9duire les facteurs qui dissuadent les gens de continuer \u00e0 travailler.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Les Canadiens peuvent diff\u00e9rer le versement de la <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/retraite-retirement.service.canada.ca\/fr\/learn\/main-sources-of-retirement-income\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">S\u00e9curit\u00e9 de la vieillesse<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (SV) apr\u00e8s 65 ans jusqu\u2019\u00e0 5 ans afin de b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d\u2019une prestation mensuelle plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Le budget f\u00e9d\u00e9ral 2024 a <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">augment\u00e9 l\u2019exemption de gains<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> pour le calcul du Suppl\u00e9ment de revenu garanti (SRG), une prestation mensuelle offerte aux b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaires de la SV \u00e0 faible revenu.
