Last February the IRPP published Income Inequality: The Canadian Story, edited by David A. Green, W. Craig Riddell and France St-Hilaire. This important collection sheds light on the rise in income inequality in Canada over the past few decades and analyzes the effects of public policies on income disparities. As a complement to that work, Policy Options presents a series of articles on the topic in French. Our contributers approach the subject from a range of different perspectives: the growth of inequality and the role of the tax-and-transfer system, the evolution of wages and benefits, CEO compensation practices, social spending and the fiscal framework, the role of Old Age Security and the Guaranteed Income Supplement, links between inequality and health, and the need for citizen involvement in finding solutions to the problem of income inequality. You will find links to all the latest articles on inequality on this page, as we publish them.
